 Jumla ya washukiwa 39 wa mauaji ya halaiki ya watu katika msitu wa Shakahola wamekana mashataka yote 17 dhidhi yao mbele ya Hakimu Nelly Chipchirchir katika mahakama ya watoto ya Tononoka hapa mjini Mombasa. Wakiongozwa na mhubiri tata Paul Mackenzie washukiwa hao wanakabiliwa na mashtaka ya kuwatesa watoto kinyama, kusababisha vifo vya watoto kinyume cha sheria,kuwanyima haki yao ya elimu na chakula miongoni mwa mashtaka mengine. Mawakili wa washukiwa hao wakiongozwa na Wycliffe Makasembo waliiomba mahakama kupewa stakabadhi za zenye ripoti ya ushahidi wa madai dhidi ya wateja wao ili wazihakiki na kuzitathmini, ombi ambalo mahakama ya watoto ya Tononoka ilikubaliana nalo.
